what lift do you run

what lift do you run
i have 31". the most i would go is 32 or 33. i dont want to put alot of stress on the axles. so i might stay with 31". cant afford 44 axles. i just want something with alittle lift. when i get a new tub i might put a 1" body lift. i just want a lift. not trying to stuff a big tire on it.

2.5" is good enough for 31's and with a 1" body lift you would be great. If you don't plan on 33's, I'd stick with 2.5" - especially since you said you'll be doing mostly on road with some off road motoring.

4" won't hurt at all but then you might not be able to use the shocks you already have.

ok im on a different kick now. im trying find all the web sites of lift companys. i know theres rancho, superlift, skyjacker, black diamond, rough country :biggun: and (i am not putting them on my jeep) is there any others you guys can think of so i can check their web sites out. just try to make my mind up. the lift is going to be my b-day present in april. now the hard part. i have to quit smoking to get it. this is going to be the hard part.

well i think im going to get the 3" black diamond lift. one ? on their site it said to use a drop pitman arm. but yet they dont have one on their site. what pitman arm should i use. stock, 4"?

ya i think they are made by superlift.

I run 36's on my stock AMC20 and Dana 30 . As of yet i have had no problem, so 33's shouldn't be an issue

rough country :biggun: and (i am not putting them on my jeep)

Rough country is rough at first but they begin to soften up as you go along, that and after a little bit of driving you just get used to it,.

I have a superlift, it's fine but their support sucks, I called with an issue and they basically blew me off. If I replace mine I'm going with skyjacker or Rancho, that's what I had on my truck. I have a superlift 4" lift it rides nice, the only issues so far is a broken bend clip and the jackazz support guy.

Dalefan88 I am running a Black Diamond 3" (mind you I have an 02 TJ) and from the other reply I left you on the other post you have it looks higher then 3". I am not sure how the BD lift is with your year jeep but I am very happy with it and I did not have to change my pitman arm. I paid $600.00 with shipping mid summer last year but I have seen prices come down after the first of the year.

anybody heard good or bad about tuff country with ezride? their kit comes with alot of stuff for a good price. even degree blocks for the axle and Transfer Case lowering. which i cant believe with 2.5". i didnt think you would need that with 2.5".

Haven't heard anything bad about them. I know Ranch 2.5" lift springs come with degree shims, but not Transmission lowering spacers.

is the tcase lowering kit just spacers?

Yup. You can make your own from a 1" heavy wall iron pipe and just cut pieces to an inch or so.

Some other suspensions are Pro Comp, Icon, Tomken machine. Deaver and Holbrook make long leaf systems.

I run the Procomp 2 1/2inch lift springs. about $480.00, I used these springs on a SOA lift, they are ok to me, not as soft as I would like them, but it was the cheapest offer at the time for me. they flex pretty good through.

I went with the Old man Emu 2 1/2' HD all around with there HD shocks and couldn't be happier. Yeh, they're a little more money but you get what you pay for. I had there suspension on my Land Rover before getting the CJ and ran it for 100,000 miles plus and it still performed great. I've also heard good things about the Rubicon Express lift and almost went it with it, but decided to go with what I trusted.
