what lift do you run

what lift do you run
Welcome to the site Zuni! :chug: Glad to have you as a member!

Old Man Emu are some great springs. Probably the ones I'll get next for my CJ.

My Jeep sits 2.5" taller than stock. It was like this when I bought it so I have no idea how to find out what brand springs it has, but they don't look original. The shackles aren't stock, but don't seem measure to much more than stock.
I did have to adjust the caster 4* degrees to get 7*.

Can anyone here tell what I have by these pics?

Never mind the shovel. That was a snow shovel joke!

I have the Procomp 4" lift on my 84 CJ7 , It's about three years old, hasn't sagged and runs great. They are a bit stiff but I articulate just fine on the rocks. I also have a 2" body lift and a 1.5" shakel lift. I made the shackles myself. I run 35's and seem to be the one that pulls the other out most of the time.

I don't know what make those springs are, but they are mil spec. wrapped. That baby has got to ride pretty rough!

Are you sure they are mil wrap? I only see the upper most spring wrapped around the eye...

Looks like they are to me. That double wrap on a short spring, and the leafs don't look tapered. Sure dont look like a soft spring at any rate. Could be wrong though!

I run superlift 4in springs no problems after about 5 years of abuse

Carpet in the garage?

I did too at my old place. The ex moved out and she had this green rug that I hated and ended up leaving it behind. She asked for it later but it was keeping my back warmer and soaking up small oil spots under the Jeep. It was green also.

well i made my mind up. when we get the money we are going to get a rustys offroad 4" lift. for $470 you get the springs, shocks, and drop pitman arm. to me it is the best bang for the buck.

Do they come with degree shims?
I do like Rusty's military wrap springs, that's the only thing missing on my kit I wish I had.

The superlift on my jeep came with degree shims and I'm glad, the short wheel base is hell.

Check out these:

Not sure of the difference, you'd have to email, but you can see the degree shims in the pic's.
If rusty's has shims in the kit get it, if not I know several companies who sell them seperate.

I'm running a SOA with 2 1/2 inch lift springs from 4wd hardware. Look at their lift kits, it is cheaper than going with a "Name"

i think i will have to get the shims.

how would i know which shims to get?
