I am looking at buying a CJ7 but I am not very experienced with them not having owned one before. I have owned older vehicles 77 & 78 Transmission ams but no jeeps. I am mainly looking for a reliable around the town cruiser, not offroading. I don't know the pro's and con's of jeep 4 vs inline 6. Also, it is hard to locate one in good shape in WI so all of them I am looking at are on Ebay in warm states. I am currently considering the following three on Ebay all which end soon.

260728540300
290528255309
170596551175

Can anyone provide some useful insight on what to ask, consider based on your experience.

Thanks,
A newbie:notworthy:

I have it narrowed down to the two 84's. Any input would be appreciated

#3 in the poll above
1984 Restored Jeep CJ7 Nicest Around Low Miles

Completely restored 1984 Jeep CJ7 with 57,000 original miles on the vehicle and 8,000 miles on the new Jasper Jeep AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engine with power cam, Oppenheimer Intake w/ Intercooler and Holly 4brl carb. This Jeep has had almost ALL parts replaced new and within the last 8,000 miles. New or replaced parts consist of, but not Limited to battery, fuel tank, 2.5 suspension lift / replacement, CURRY ENTERPRISES 9in Racing Rear end (3.55 Gears), alloy Axils, Dana 30 front end with new ring and pinion, clutch and linkage assembly, front spindal assemblies, ball joints, Rancho RS 5000 shocks, body bushings, sway bar, drop links, steering stabilizer, rotors, calipers, universal joints, greasable shackles…on and on. Some of the other larger enhancements are as follows: headers with dual flowmaster exhaust, Jeep was completely stripped of parts, all minor rust and paint as necessary was removed and then Lifetime Warranty LINE-X spray on liner applied to ALL interior or jeep. New Best Top soft top, seats, roll cage padding and Bikini top always stored in conditioned home. Cab cover included, jeep has MP3 stereo w/ cd, amp, 2 subs and 4 speakers. Wheels and Tires are Mickey Thompson 15” 33x12.5. This is a VERY strong Jeep that has been done RIGHT, turns heads where ever it goes and has NOT seen Rain or Mud since restore, all I do is drive on the weekends. Over $25k invested, WOW you won’t be disappointed!

I didn't vote because I think you should build your own.
The best part of being a cj owner is knowing that your built it yourself,
and knowing every bolt and wire on it.;)

Agreed, if only I had the time.......

I like #3. A Curry 9" is worth more then the Jeep itself
