Trying to get steering wheel back together and horn working. I can't actually figure out how the horn works. Certainly when you press the horn it makes a contact (grounds it from what i've read) and completes the circuit. But i don't really see what acts as the "spring" - unless its part #4 in the attached picture. And i'm not sure what order these things go back together (should have taken a picture when i took it apart - lesson learned!)

If anyone can shed light on how the horn makes contact at the steering wheel and what order these parts go together (or if i'm missing any parts) that would be great.

Thx
Ron

Go to the last couple of pics' here. 1,2,4,5,3. Take note of which way part #4 is
oriented. Or the first couple of pics as it comes apart. And unless it is hidden on the steering wheel and can't see it, you are missing a large plastic ring that screws on the steering wheel.

Thats a really nice write up I love the pictures

Just FYI if memory serves, the #4 plate is not flat. It has to be on a particular side, so when you press down on the horn, the plate makes a electrical contact. If you flip it the wrong way up, it won't work. To be honest, it took me a couple tries to get my horn back together again. Sometimes trial and error helps. Good Luck!

I was at the junk yard yesterday and took pics. Wish i had a steering wheel puller so I could get the horn cancel cam.... but next time.

Switch 3 with 4. And flip 3 with plastic down.
