That is so sad...any chance you could trade her for the jeep?
Well, I wouldn’t trade the girl for the jeep but I’m one of the lucky ones as she is a dyed in the wool jeep-chick and half the time she’s the one that finds a prospective jeep to buy first; if I find one and there are enough pennies in the piggy she always tells me to just buy it. How can I trade that?

Grew up down the street from the "Archer Brothers" in California as a kid. There was always some interesting military surplus like half tracks ,troop carriers & jeeps Etc. in there yard......Quite a magnet for a young kid to hang out there and have access to all that stuff. ......the business grew into one of the premier Jeep supply houses in the country years ago before there health forced its closing.

Back in 81, a buddy's girlfriend let her CJ5 get in such bad shape it had quit running. They towed it over to my place, and I spent two months getting it back in top shape, and having fun spending's Mark and Katy's money. By the end of that two months, I had completely fallen in love with CJs!
I went out and managed to get a smokin' deal on an '81 CJ7 Laredo with less than 5K miles on it. It's been me and Peej ever since! In '97 my niece ran over a drunk in a Thunderbird with him, and he spent a long time "sleeping" in a corner of the garage. He was hurt bad, but I just couldn't let him go.
This year, I started the resto in earnest, and he's back on his feet again! He's got a long road to full recovery, but HE'S BACK!

When I was 19 I asked my parent to help me get a loan for a Toyota mini truck. My buddies all had them lifted and we would go mudding. I was hooked. My dad said "why don't you take the old CJ5 in the back and get it road worthy?" That was the beginning of a 23 year love affair with my CJ5 . I still have it and now have a scrambler project as well as well. I also owned a 46 MB, a 78 CJ5 and an 84 CJ7 . I love the fact these are finally becoming collectors vehicles and unique.

always wanted a jeep, can't explain why because growing up my family never had one although may dad did have a willys when he ws a kid so maybe it was just in my blood. had bought a yj in '90, then traded in for a '93, then needed something more practicle (kids entered the picture). I knew then that I would own another one in the future and it would be a CJ.
When I was young, my Granddaddy had a '68 or '69 Jeep. All it had was the front seats. On the dash had the choke, speedometer, wiper knob, am radio, and I think it had a push button start (but I could be wrong.) It was a olive maybe green (I have an issue with shades of color. But I do know it was about that color.) I would sit in it for hours everyday. I loved it. We werent allowed to touch anything but the window cranks and the steering wheel. My Uncle painted it white when I was about 10. I asked Granddaddy if I could have it when I turned 16. He chuckled and said he would see. Then he decided he didnt want to teach me how to drive a stick, and traded his brother for a '70-something Malibu. Yay me. My great uncle sold the Jeep shortly after. And when I was 17, Granddaddy died.
I have wanted that Jeep for as long as I can remember.

When I was about 10 years old, my friend and I invented a plan that we would buy Jeeps when we graduated and drive them down to S. America and just see what happens to us. (Too many Indiana Jones movies.) I never drove down to S. America, but I did get the CJ.

- 1976 CJ7 Jeep with a engine/tranny/wiring harness out of a 1988 s10 blazer 4.3l v6 with th700r4 automatic tranny and a cj7 Dana 300 transfer case with Novak adapter.
Complete wiring harness from the s10 blazer. Painted with HOT PINK Pearl paint with standard sized metallic halographic pink flakes. Painted by me -a newb. New rear, front and side three wire LED lights, New parts, new custom dash-by me And a lot of guidance from fellow jeepers and lots of prayers etc.... :p

But then as I grew up a bit... I noticed how unique and fun/tough and diverse these little jeeps are... I love they can be a convertible, have a hard top, or bikini top.... And love how tall the CJ7s are... Plus, they are an all year round vehicle... Snow? No problem... Sun, no problem, rain? who cares if I get wet... :drool:
