Whats parts do i have?

Hi Guys

just a quick question, i notice you all know or have a rough idea on what Drivetrains etc you have in your CJ's.

How can i tell what i have? will it be stamped on the casings somewhere.
I think it would be handy so i can fill out my profile better, and also for ordering parts etc.

All i know so far is mines a RHD 81 (registered in 82) 4cyl CJ7 with 4 speed transmition. and i do have lockers on the front. with Power Steering but no brake servo. ( i can take some pics next week and post them up if needed)


There arn't many ( if any older CJ clubs etc ) over here, you only see the odd newer Wranglers etc (which imho don't look as nice )
and our JEEP Stealerships don't have any knowledge of anything over 10 years old.

And as you guys are all gods you may be able to help.

you should have the GM 151 2.5 liter 4cyl, should have the SR4 4speed not the T-4 . and should have Dana 30 front, AMC20 rear, narrow track axles. it also should have a Dana 300 Transfer Case . this is what you should have that doesn't mean that's exactly what it is.

The parts (engine, Transmission , Transfer Case , etc) will have numbers on them.
Write them all down get a good visual of what they look like, or take pictures.
