Hello all, I am not sure if this is the correct thread to post this question but I am sure someone will let me know.

I have a 1960 CJ5 jeep willys. It is all stock with NO lifts. I want to replace the original 16" split rims and tube tires. I do not want to lift it (at least not in the near future) but I would like to get a good size wheel & tire. I am considering a new wheel size of 15"X8" and a new tire size of 30"X9.5" in a mud terrain or at least good on / off road tire. Any suggestions? Can I go to a bigger diameter without having to lift?

Keep in mind I still have manual steering

Thanks.

30 or 31 inch tires should fit fine. At about 32 inches they will start to rub a little.

Rim width depends on the tires you pick. PitBull tires are very wide compared to others the same diameter.
BFGoodridge is comparable to many other tires. In that case you would need about a 7 to 9 inch rim.

I was think of going with a rim size of either 15" or 16" but 8" wide. This would be an offset rim as well.

I have 30 x 9.5 x 15 BFG KM2's with 7 inch rims on my 1973 CJ5 , manual steering, no lift. The BFG's are slightly narroower in the tread than most same height mudders.

I'm amazed how easy they steer with the manual steering. Go 20 -22 PSI pressure for the street.
