Wheel Spacers: how wide should I get them?

Wheel Spacers: how wide should I get them?
A wheel spacer will put the same leverage as an offset rim. There is nothing wrong with quality wheel spacers. If you put an offset rim on it it will go through just as many bearings as a wheel spaced one.

Then, the problem either of them is that the will go through bearings....

Its not like you are going to get 3 months out of a bearing as compared to 3 years.Get a quality bearing and you will be fine.

I wouldn't go with spacers at all. I've had a lot of buddies that have had nothing but trouble out of the spacers. I would try switching out the tires to get the look you are going for.

You are %110 correct, the stress is exactly the same. I got in a "discussion" with an engineer about this so we did a load test, the stress in all directions remains exactly the same whether you add a wheel spacer, or change the offset with new wheels. as long as you use the type of wheel space that has its own studs, not the ones from the local parts store, as they reduce the shear strength of the studs with their potential to slip.
