Had these lock washers on my hubs when I went to upgrade my drums to discs. They had a tab that folded over the head of the bolt to prevent it from backing out. What is the proper name, and where can I get them? They are very uniquely shaped and I doubt I can source them locally.

Would these work?

I'd go with the nordlock washers, I'm going to order some up next time I place an order. I just have lock washers in at the moment, my factory hardware was missing or rusted. Warn also makes a stud conversion kit which costs about $50.

That looks to be the ticket right there.

It is more than likely as good as it gets but you will need to do a little trim to make it fit. I do not know why Scout hubs should be different from Jeep hubs but apparently they are. Just a little.:D

If you convert over to studs and lock nuts that you torque to spec. You'll be ahead of the game.

:)

There is something about the Warn Jeep Hubs that allows the bolts to loosen. I have even seen them loosen the studs.........I think the bend over washers do seem to work......

Lots of guys change the internal spindle hub over to I think a Ford or Chevy style with a snap ring inside and that problem seems to go away...........

For years I just did Allen heads that were drilled and safety wired them and never looked back.

Hmm, so I'm looking at $18 for the lock washers or ~$60 for the stud kit from Warn. And I might have to grind the lock washers a little, but that's not a big deal. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

The bend-over to work type lock washers are a OTU(one time use)and throw away.
Studs with nuts are reusable, and field serviceable/repairable.

The hub is threaded 3/8x16thd.
Length, you want at least 1" of thd into the hub body, and 5/8-3/4" above the flange of the locking hub.
Use 'pinch' nuts and AN washers.
Use #242 locktite on the threaded section that screws into the hub.

My local Jeep guy says that those lock washers seem like they should work, but in real life they don't work and are a waste of money. Even being bad enough to give you a false sense of security leading to a relaxing of maintenance and destroyed hubs. I know this sounds harsh, but I was going down this road and he couldn't discourage me enough. The studs are a good idea and can be bought in many places at MUCH reduced prices from those found in the kits.
