I picked up some used 2 inch lift leaf springs from a guy. They were pretty rusty but 40 bucks at a local sandblaster cleaned them up just nice.

I am curious about how lifting will affect my steering.. Admittedly I know diddle about camber or whatever the science behind making the wheels track correctly down the road. I do know that I was able to lift my Grand Wagoneer 4 inches with a spring lift and saw no noticeable affect on my steering but that wheel base is much larger.

so for 2 inches do I need to?

Worry about the steering?

Worry about driveshaft angles?

Change out the stock shocks?

TIA:D

oh and I want to replace all the leaf bushings too where can I get a complete set of 8?

A 2" lift is not going to effect much. You are going to have install em and check your shocks and brake lines to make sure their not to short :chug: you might have to thread the adjuster out a few turns to center the steering wheel back

Ok and what about some lift shackles? I got the front 2 springs in today and it looks like they are yielding me exactly 2 inches. I was thinking about some of those boomerang style shackles(admittedly just because I like the look) I found a complete set front and back on ebay for 80 bucks shipped claiming they ad 1/2 inches of lift.. I was thinking either those or some 1'' ones nothing bigger as 3 inches of total lift is the maximum i really would like to go.... I couldnt find any 1'' shackles.....

I want my jeep to track well on the road how bad would .5-1inch shackles mess with things. that would be 2 inches of spring lift .5-1 inch of shackle lift and 31x10.5x15 tires

The springs shouldnt affect your steering, front lift shackles likely will since they will change your caster angle for the worse. How much you will only discover by trying them. Some jeeps are more sensitive then others in this regard.

And that can be negated by shimming the axle? how to you figure out what degree shim you need?
