Anyone got a winch mounted to their stock cj bumper? I cant find a mounting plate that works with cj bumpers, any suggestions and or pics of a winch mounted with the stock bumper would be appreciated.

most of the mounting plates mount to the frame, so it doesn't matter what bumper you have.

:agree: I used a Warn universal winch mount bolted to the frame and but some welds from the mount and stock bumper and frame and mount for extra strength.

Can we assume you mean you need a mount that works around the front stock bumper bolts? Do a search for Promark winch mounts. It's for a CJ. Well made, mounts to side of frame rails, notched for the bumper mount bolts, quality construction, and a great price. The only downside is the black powder coating fades to dull in the sun.

Thanks, thats exactly what im looking for

Ok well at this point im assuming the promark winch plates are discontinued. So i have found two other options that i am considering. The first is rugged ridge - Rugged Ridge Jeep CJ Raised Winch Plate , but it is "raised". The other is by black mountain - Black Mountain Product 3 , I have never heard of black mountain so i am leaning towards the rugged ridge. Any comments or opinions? Also what are the advantages of "raised" versus not "raised", as it would seem that the raised one would weaker just by the design. I am keeping my stock bumper for now and would just like to get my winch mounted up and functional, thanks.
