I'm having problems installing the cowl seal on my 82 CJ7 . I purchased a windshield frame because the old was was shot. It looks like they changed the design on the replacement W/S and added a bend to the bottom metal edge. This causes the gasket to not fit correctly.
Anybody run into this before? Is the another gasket made for the replacement frames?

It should be the same. Where did you buy it or what brand is it. Can you post pics. I'll take a look at mine but I don't recall having any issues.

Ouch. Lot of work. Ought to grind it down send it back and say that's how it should be.

aahh yes. Seems I remember Keith talking about this awhile back now. MD Juan was the culprit.

Just something to look out for if anyone needs a new Windshield Frame. Don't it stuck with one like I did.

Thats why when I need one I looked for a good used one the aftermarket ones suck oh wait SUCK!!!

I just replaced the frame and glass in my 82 CJ7 . Bought the frame from The Jeep Guy fit perfectly. I took pictures of the label on the box. If I remember my phone tomorrow:mad: I will post a picture with the information on it. If I remember right it came out of Nevada.

Ok, found the picture. The frame I purchased was from Crown Automotive. I am much more pleased with the frame then I have been with other items manufactured by Crown.
Haven't figured out how to attach the photo. :censored:
