YJ Mirror- Yet Another Upgrade for the Upgrade Junky

YJ Mirror- Yet Another Upgrade for the Upgrade Junky
That's them. Not the same as the pic. Mine mount to the lower hinge in the front.
So do you have to drill your stock windshield hinges???? Those look like you either have to weld them to your current ones or they replace the whol bracket.

No drilling, they bolt in over the hinge. Pull the front 2 hinge bolts, position the plate, and put the bolts back in. Simple as that. :chug:
sweet, they also look like you un bolt the original yj mirror base plate. The one I got in the link says its for a YJ but I would imagine they should be the same for a cj.

Correct on both counts! They give you some hardware to swap it over to the new bracket. Was pretty seamless. You run into the same problem with the passenger mirror as you do with the CJ style, in that you have to position it so you can see it thru the windshield. I was used to it already, so it was a non-issue for me. I was looking at TJ mirrors today and it looks like they will swap to this bracket as well.

Hmm when I get my cj back I think I will go this way but I will need to source new upper door hinges.

I just ordered the relocation brackets today. Now I will need to find new door hinges since I ruined mine by drilling holes in them to accept the Yj brackets.

The way yours mount to the pass side? Do you have any issues seeing the pass mirror?

Nelson can i get a close up of your mirrors I got the brackets in yesterday and would like to see how you installed em.:chug:

i like the mirrors. do they vibrate as much as the cj ones?

I had the oportunity to finally drive the truck and they vibrate a little but nothing that would be noticable had I not made it a point to look to answer you question. I am going to install the windshield mounted brackets tomorrow.
