I tried to search this, but I'm going to be getting close to mounting my YJ tub to my CJ frame by next weekend, and I have been told there is a frame mount that needs to be moved in the middle somewhere, and that the rear mounts just need to be re-drilled in the frame.

Also, I hear there is some work to be done on the defroster vents to work with the CJ window frame..

So what's the real story on this??

I too am where u are... the mounts in front of the rear tires on each side of the CJ7 , I am told, are to far back for the yj tub location. Depending on how fussy you are you can either grind off the old ones and reweld them in the right place or fabricate an L shape one and weld onto the old one and weld the shorter section of the L onto your frame then drill your 1.25 inch hole for the mount. I am going to make new ones this week if I can't find them anywhere. I sent an e-mail out to a guy in pennsylvania who makes frames, hopefully he'll have them in stock, if he does I'll let you know. In my case, I replaced the bed of the tub and have to also weld new channels so I really didn't need to grind them off except for the fact that they were in rough / thinned out shape anyway so...Oh well, I came this far so what's a little more work.

Oh yeah, the rear mounts to the rear crossmember and yes I read the same - that they have to be reamed outward. My underpart is not so pretty in that area so I'm going to cut it out where it should be then weld new pieces in with welded nuts in the middle. This will be welded up when the body is above the crossmember and everything is lined up nice. Thank God for my welding buddies!
