Your Man Cave

Your Man Cave
Here is mine. Flat screen, heat and a/c. I could really use a microwave and toilet. Oh well i have to go to the house sometime. I spend more time in the cave than i do in the house.

I do a lot of rifle work so my cave is sort of geared to that. I do occaisionally squeeze a cj in for repairs.
Since these photos were taken I've added 2 welders (a tig and a mig) and a new safe.

At least you can walk in yours
I have everything on rolling work stations and have to roll one out to get into the space:eek:

My Cave. I Finsihed that Chopper up this past Sept and now have time to finish up that CJ5 by the end of this summer. That room on the right with the French doors is where I keep my Chopper. I need to have room when I pull the Tub off the Jeep.

Looks good, I like the floating bullet as well.

Thanks, yeah the lock release handle on the lift cracked, so I pit the S&W shifter knob off the jeep on it.

I thought I would revive this thread because I just moved and got a new garage.
When I was looking for a new home I was most concerned about the garage. I wanted a good automotive workshop but I didn't need a very big house at all. I saw this place and it has 2 two car garages. My CJ is lifted and has oversized tires so it was crucial that I can fit my CJ into the garage (I was NOT going to work on my CJ in the driveway anymore) I called the realtor and asked if the garage doors were more than 82 inches high. He didn't know but started in about the features of the house. I interrupted him and said I wasn't concerned about the house. If you don't know how big the garage doors are I will come and measure them.

The detached garage was a perfect shop. It has lots of power - 110 and 220. I even painted the inside of the garage before it was legally mine. My co-workers gave me a hard time about that but I knew I would be mine eventually.

Ok, so now that the garage is mine I needed to stock it.
Here's the bench I built (sorry my CJ is hogging the picture):

Then I bought a the biggest tool chest Sears had:
garage__tools_and_compressor_19.jpg

For fathers day my son bought me lots of tools and accessories like the retractable air hose so I bought this 60 gallon air compressor:

Then I found this drill press on CraigsList (you can also see the new creeper I bought):

Yes, I have been spending a lot of money on my garage.
My new home doesn't have any chairs or furniture in my family room but hey, I've got my priorities. How can I buy a couch when I don't even have an air compressor in my garage?
In all honesty I really do like my family room. It's got a fireplace and a built in book shelf. It really would be a cool room if it had any furniture.

EDIT: yes, I am divorced and I know that is all too obvious from the post above.

Very nice I like how you think. :notworthy:

i'll have to get some pictures tonight, but atleast you guys have doors. Mines a three car garage (2 of the spaces are ours with renting the house above) but it has no garage doors. so if if pours down raining...it floods, or if it is windy, everything is dusty...
but i put up some tarps so when i start to do detailed work on my jeep, i'll make a make shift clean room...three sides wrapped in tarps, but for right now, untill i can start walking...everything is collecting dusy :(

Where's the bike Dave?
The Busa and my pickup are in the attached garage. The attached garage is for my daily drivers. The detached garage is my man cave. :D

It is not complete yet. I have to finish the ceiling and some other things. It is 14'x37', plus an alcove and another 12'x20' room.

PO's for the glass. I have my Sears 60 gallon air compressor in that room, I have yet to run the overhead air lines. So I am using a door lock hole in the door to run the hose through, and keep the noise down to a minimum.

oh yea I love my man cave , here are a few of mine its 2000 square ft and heated with a pellet burner , greatest investment and has a/c as well , there is a pit that I put in as you see in front of my car, another great investment as you can stand under your car or jeep and there is a full bathroom with a shower,,,,and a couple shots outside , as you can see there is a 10x20 deck which I got for free just to move it,,it was six months old and cost the company I work for about $3500 to build and then they tore down that particular store,,company waste more than I could afford on things like that

Finally got the drywall up in mine last winter. It does have pex in the floor but have not used it as the place is buried on two sides and stays 55-70 degrees all year.
