Your Man Cave

Your Man Cave
Finally got the drywall up in mine last winter. It does have pex in the floor but have not used it as the place is buried on two sides and stays 55-70 degrees all year.

That's very nice Duffer. Do you work at Sear's by chance? Or at the Craftsman factory discount center?

I bought the first roller cabinet in 1972 so there has been a long accumulation period for those and just decided to keep buying the same sizes. You can see by the "Craftsman" tags, there are quite a few different styles and they also changed the casters a couple of times.

The local Sears store had the wall cabinets on sale for $99 when I was drywalling the garage and you can't find much that good for that price. I would not have paid $199 for them.

I did put in two Sabre "magnum" 2 door base cabinets in under the bench since those photos were taken. I wanted something 24" deep which eliminated anything from Sears and just about everyone else. The bench is 32" deep.

Yeah, if you watch Sear's sale flyers they sometimes give an exceptional deal now and then. About 8 years ago I had bought one of their black 48" work benches with 5 drawers on one side and a door on the other, regularly $149, for $88. About 6-8 months later they had the same sale again, so I HAD to buy another.:dunno:

Based on the pics posted above, I feel compelled to upgrade my shop just a bit.....Perhaps, by car jacking a Sears truck?:)

All repairs are done during day in sunny weather hopefully. 3 bay plus some extra basement lacks alot to be finished but I reserved a small nook soley for my "stuff". If I could only move the 6' spiral staircase I could gain a punch more! ;)

I have no garage.....no garage have I.....so I must rely on the weather's cooperation to do any work outside. No room on the property to build one.

That being said, here's my "outside shop".....a 10'x10' shed that's basically a "walk-in toolbox". I got tired of trekking back into the basement for first one tool then another, so most everything (as far as hand-tools) in the downstairs shop is duplicated upstairs.

Here's the downstairs shop area. (Even though I did build the front & rear bumpers down here, there's been a ban on welding inside....)
(Imagine standing and slowly turning from left to right, when viewing.)

Some of the "benchtop" tools in the basement are on roller-stands (planer, spindle/belt sander, bandsaw).....the drill press & table saw aren't.

The car half way covered is mine, needs to be finished before I really get into the jeep, covered car is bros. But this is my setup, work in progress, needs a welding table and a mini lathe I just don't know if I have the room.

More like a candy store:drool:

Thank you! I'm an admitted semi-pro tool-junkie. Dad sold tools at various swap-meets & flea markets from about '68 until '08. He had a tool/hardware store in Texas for a while, and then was at Trader's Village in Grand Prairie from '78 to '90. So I've had plenty of exposure over the years!

Few more. 30x40x10. 3 bays. 2 9’ doors and 1 10’ door. I did some renovations to my storage while I was waiting for my engine block to be machines. It’s much better now.
