Thought I'd start a my stuck was worse then your worse stuck thread...
We all have em, have been part of them or seen them.

I'll start with one that wasn't bad on the surface. While running around in Central Fl on some well known trails that were pretty popular I got so stuck that it took three trucks with double lined 8,000 lb winches to pull me out. All of them ended up having to anchor their frames to tees because when they pulled unanchored - it drug them there big old Fords and Chevy's right through the dirt.

How in the heck does a CJ5 get that struck you ask? Well, we were mighty confused until my CJ emerged from the mud and let us all in on it's deep stuck secret.

Come to find out while bouncing around in the mud hole, I had some how found a 4" or so in diameter stump of a tree and it had bent my skid plate back, lodged it self in between the Transmission bracket and the frame. I wasn't stuck! I was impaled. But since I was in mud and water up to the doors we all thought it was just a simple stuck... LOL

Once the CJ emerged and we able to inspect the damage it became apparent what had happened. We were able to sledge hammer the mount back enough so I could drive home and the day was done.

That is how a little CJ can weigh over 48,000 pounds!

Let's hear one of your stuck stories!

FJ40's don't get stuck.:D Never really had a bad being stuck but did have a couple hairy situations. Worse I can remember was breaking a front spindle about half way thru the Rubicon in Lake Tahoe. The only thing holding the the whole wheel and brake assembly on was a ring clip on the end of the outer axle spline...tire had a nice and interesting camber to it. I was sure that every time it started getting a little rough, that wheel and brake was going to take off on it's own.:(

Similar story. It was just mud and long grass, but it got impaled between the Transmission and the tracking rod, wrecking the steering, drive and exhaust manifold in one go.

We got pulled out sideways once we'd figured what had gone wrong. Made the most horrendous noise of screeching metal and the undeniable "thyyyouuu-puck" of half a ton of metal being plucked out of a bog. That and laughter...

All righ, Ill play. I was at the Union Hall last winter, playing around in the parking lot. It had snowed recently and the lot had been plowed, the snow piles were about 4-5 feet tall. I was on the side of the piles that had not been plowed in about a foot of snow and doing doughnuts and whatnot. I went to climb the snow pile in front of me but didn't have the speed and ended up hi-centering. You know how many wheel drive you have when none of the tires are touching the ground? No wheel drive!
I love my winch!!! Have no fear, there were 10 people with camera phones to document the whole ugly thing, pictures everywhere in the shop.

LOL - I chuckled pretty good on this one! Don't you remember the good old days when you could embarrass yourself and there was no way to document it. It ended up being your word against another... :D

Now you have to watch your back because every silly thing can put out for all to see in a matter of minutes!

Speaking of the term "for all to see" - Umm... How about posting those pics for us to evaluate and learn from.. Yea.. That's why we would like to see them... :notworthy:

my worst stuck wouldnt have been that bad but it was my worst prepared i was out wheelin in the snow had a girl with me showin off so i was thinkin with the wrong head to start with went down a minimum maintenance road way to fast and hit a big snow drift but since i was going fast i made it far until it high centered and quit movin no problem normally i got out looked in the bed and noticed all i had to dig was a bent golf club and a spoon lots of cussin freezin and about an hour later i got out the girl wasnt impressed but o well i found another woman
later mike

LOL - Spoons don't move a whole lot of snow - do they?

Showing off for a woman - many a man has screwed up royally by following that exact course - I know I have! :chug:

Okay, I'll play.

While I was in TN, I had a friend with some land. The land had a pond on it. It used to be a small clay mine. So the 'bowl' that the pond was at the bottom of was terraced. I got to the far side of the pond and got stuck with the driver's side on the edge of one level while the passenger side was stuck in the mud that had accumulated in the 'corner' of the step/terrace.

So, I call friends. Two of them eventually. One with an XJ. They stuck getting down to the pond (forget going back up the other side!).

Then my second buddy with his big Ford F-AMC 150 (250 maybe, it's been a while) got stuck trying to pull the XJ out.

What now? Call a farmer friend of a friend who brought his John Deere tractor, dual rear wheels and all. It took him about 20 minutes to drive get there but when he did, it was nothin' pullin' everyone out!

It's good to have friends but it's better not being stupid. :D

We got stuck on a dry lake bed in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service. Just plain stuck in the soft sand... had to all get out and dig out sand with our hands and notebooks (it was after school in high school)... took us an hour to get out

alright i guess i got one of these stuck stories. we were out wheelin in my dads truck going up a hill in about 6 inches of snow with his old no traction procomp all terrains. we tried going up it a few times and then when we were backing down the hill and we made the brilliant move of backed up into a tree, because his rear window of his topper was completely covered in snow and dirt. we werent able to go forward, due to the hill being so steep and slick. the topperdoor was unable to be opened to get the tool that had conveniently been placed in the bed. so we ended up breaking off sticks from surrounding treesand shoveling with those and sticking those under the wheels and we finally got up the hill enough to manuver around the tree and we ended up flooring it in order to get up the hill. the only evidence is a dent on his back bumper. He got new tires so this will never happen again, there interco m16's (they have bullets on them!!)

"Stuck" is such a vulgar term...

I prefer to use the phrase "temporarily caught in a situation less preferable to the one you were in before"...

:O

..and yes it has happened to my CJ7 , but only once, and it was the only minor blip in its trailing career.

It actually happened to be one of the few times I was using it to trail (before I got it all shiny and good looking with accessories ect...) not on a designated trail area. Infact, it was whilst running errands to raise cash for new parts - I was taking it around farmed fields and doing things like removing old trees etc when I oversteered it into a ditch, not doing any damage, but the echoes of the stress on the axle haunted my nightmares for a long time...

Long story:

While I was indentured to the USAF (way back when!) I had an old Dodge 1/2 ton 2wd truck. Decided to go fishing at the local lake one day, so I drove on down. I noticed the water level was way down, but the ground seemed solid enough. Spent about 3 hours with rod in hand (never did catch anything) so I decided to call it a day.
Hopped in the truck like always, and went to take off. NO GO, buddy! the rear tires simply broke thru the crust and headed for china! Back and forth back and forth..no luck. Just sunk the front tires into the muck.
SO I call a girl friend of mine who's dad has a monster '71 F-350 4x4 crew cab with a utility box (we called it the tank, Sat higher than my current Jeep, and it was all stock!) The gal brings it out within 200 yards of me and drives it right into a ditch! Crossed up and no lockers, it wasn't going anywhere either!
Long story short, it took 4 ratchet winches, 250 ft of cable and chain, and the better part of 4 hours to get the trucks out. Hooked the 2 rigs together and ended up pulling my 2wd out of frame deep muck before the F-350 even budged. And that was after I freed my truck and tied it to a tree back down the access road to use as an anchor!
My lady friend was NOT happy with me that day!

ROTFLMAO! Stuck becomes PC!!!

I never get stuck with my jeep... because i never go to places where we might get stuck...:D it's either i love my self too much or i love my jeep to much to get a dirt...... lol:notworthy:

I had a mostly stock yj about 10 years ago. Wheeling with a buddy, at night, and I saw a nicely rutted hill about 200 feet long that was beggibg me to try it. One problem. Had to drop down a 4' wall to get to the bottom of the hill. Once I dropped in, I was committed. Didn't make it on first few attempts. About the fourth attempt, We were backing down and went a little too far left. The jeep dropped into patch of cattails that were covering a deep mudhole. Nothing within winching distance. We abandoned ship. We had a 2 hour walk to the nearest phone. We came back the next day with reinforcements. In daylight, we could see it was a manmade duck blind we slid off of.

LOL - A duck blind!

You know what I hate? Getting stuck in some deep water and watching the fuel gage go UP as water finds some hole in a breather in your gas tank filler!

That's one of the things I hate!

Has that ACTUALLY happened to yourself?

I never thought watching a fuel gage go up would be a bad thing untill now!
