Build Thread 1960 Resto Project

Build Thread 1960 Resto Project
Just wanted to let you know how great your build and this thread is. :D I have just gone through it with my husband as you have many, many pictures and information that will help us. We are getting one of our CJ5 's ready to take on the CO trip. So thanks..:notworthy: and keep the good stuff coming!..:lpopcorn:

It has been a fun project. Thank you oldjeeplady:chug:

I have finished the floor welding and spot welding, it's time to pull off the tub and weld in the hat channels. Maybe next week it can go and get Media blasted and in primer.

Only one new picture, tomorrow the tub is coming off to finish welding in the hat channels.

I am only just beginning to get a feel for how much work this is and what a great job you have done.:notworthy::notworthy:

Just a few of the welds and rivets I ground off the frame had my arms burning like the fire in the sparks flying! Curt is teaching me to weld, and I believe I can, but it's going to take some practice. Those pics aren't in photobucket yet, but soon...:) Plus this thread is a good example of what to post and how to do it. Thanks!

Thank you jeeplady, I will be watching your project. If you need any pictures from my 5 just let me know. Keep the pictures and updates coming.

The Hat Channels are finished, all of the floor seams are welded. I think I am almost ready to drop it off at the Media blaster.

That is some high quality work :notworthy: you should do this for a living :lpopcorn:

This is going to be my last post for the 1960 CJ5 project as it is going to another home. I have came across a 1946 CJ2a 3 on the tree low serial number Willys. I have made a great deal with the 2a's owner.

Nice job on the e-brake.

If this must be the last post please add a pic of the 2a. I've owned 2 column shifts and I can understand the attraction.

 Wow. I do look forward to seeing the 2a though. Hopefully the new owner of the CJ5 finishes it to your level of workmanship. Maybe he'll join here

Petescj. i will keep you guys updated and will post pictures of the new 2a. I hope the new owner finishes the 5 the way it should be done. The good news is the 2A runs and drives needs brake work as they all do. :chug:
