Build Thread 1960 Resto Project

Build Thread 1960 Resto Project
A 69 CJ5 with a 225. It is a slow build as funds become available. Have the body off will need floor pans and a new rear floor(one reason I liked your build thread!) Will pull motor and Transmission /transfer and start on the frame next.
It had been sitting for over ten years...last registration was in 96.

Sounds like a great project, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need any help.:chug:

You are doing a great job :notworthy:

M38a1 windshield?

It is a factory Vented windshield for the early CJ5 :)

Nice, I know with my 3b the vented windsheild is the military M606 standard and finding one would be like finding the holly grail.
Good work.

It was well worth the 8 hour round trip to pick it up. It's in very good shape and i think it will look great on the 60.

The new wheel houses are almost finished, I just need to spot weld the inside flanges and the tailgate frame.

I'm assuming your going with the side mounted spare.

Really taken shape, looks good!

The inside wheel house spot welding is done...:chug:

:)

Very Nice......not much old sheet metal left!
What did you use for a spot welder? Is that one of those with the two separate hand held paddles?

:D:D:D:D

You should have been paying attention from the beginning. :D

Just wanted to let you know how great your build and this thread is. :D I have just gone through it with my husband as you have many, many pictures and information that will help us. We are getting one of our CJ5 's ready to take on the CO trip. So thanks..:notworthy: and keep the good stuff coming!..:lpopcorn:
