Ok I'm new here so bear with me. Two questions:

Question#1 / On a 1965 & up CJ does anyone have good pictures of the stock heater box & pipeing under the hood which would have been mounted on the drivers side firewall & fender? Also what does it look like inside the drivers compartment?
I have an aftermarket Rupp heater in mine mounted on the pass side firewall inside that really doesn't do much. Looking for options!

When I bought this Jeep back in 1967 it had the original 4 Cyl. in it & sometime in the early 70's I put a Dauntless Buick 225 V6 V-6 in it with the Saginaw steering. I used the original radiator & mounting location.

Question #2 / was the same radiator and radiator support used for either motor combination be it a 4 cyl or V-6?
I would assume that from 65-71 the configerations may be the same. Does anyone have an original w/ a V6 that would share a picture of the grill & cowl and radiator configeration & size? My current radiator is 17"w x 21" tall, I have perhaps 3/4" clearance between my fan and the existing radiator. I have a little cooling problem sometimes maybe because of the lack of a fan shroud or maybe the wrong radiator? I'm not against cutting the cowl up and making more room ( although the crossmember may limit that) for an Electric fan or shroud I just thought I would ask what others have done first before I bring out the sawzall.

Any Help would be great,

You should always run a shroud. The engine wont cool properly because the radiator doesn't receive the proper air flow through it, especially at low to no vehicle speeds.

Im not sure the stock 4cyl radiator is enough for the 225.

The radiator in my 66 225 is a three pass I believe the four cylinder uses a two pass.

Thanks for the responce, can you tell me what the deminsions are on your stock radiator?
Also how close is it to the fan blade?
Is you Battery mounted on the Passenger side firewall or right front fender next to the radiator?

A picture would be great.

Thanks

Thanks but I am aware of that just don't have the room and was wondering if the radiator support / bracket where it mounts to the radiator was a smaller deminsion front to back on a V-6 ( more room )versus a 4 banger (closer to the motor)?
If I have the wrong bracket or Radiator for that matter I need to change that first.
Has anyone used just an electric fan shroud with no mechanical ( belt driven ) fan with any success?

I'm new at this so I left you a reply it just ended up in the wrong spot.

Pictures would be great if you want I can leave you an e-mail address if that is not breaking any rules?

I think in your case, an electrical fan would be ideal. Ford Taurus fans are a popular modification.

CJim7,

So A Ford Taurus fan , any Idea what year?
Now we are talking about eliminating the belt driven fan on this V-6 and just going 100% electric correct? I know I have seen that on new cars just don't know how that would work on an old Jeep?

How's the Duck Hunting in Twin Falls? Spent many a Thanksgiving there hunting down on the Snake over on the Jerome side.
