Hello everyone,

i had a co-worker tell me about a 65 Jeep, Tuxedo Park Park Mark IV, that he knows a guy who wants to sell it. i have never heard of the Tuxedo Park Park variants, so i spent some time online researching. it appears to be a 1965 CJ5A just as described.

i am going to look at it this weekend to verify the VIN and other data plate info, and get a bunch of pics!!

get this, supposedly it is owned by the original owner, with only 9000 original miles!! been used as a farm vehicle. my co-worker said it is in pretty good shape, all stock!! we'll see!!???

he's asking $1500.00, if it is real, i will own it!!! although i hope it is a CJ6A (much more rare)!!

let me know what to look for when i go check it out this weekend, i have never owned a jeep, but have planned on it for some time!

thanks

A Tuxedo Park Park Mark IV? Cool

A what? ? ?

Actually I've never even heard of a Jeep Tuxedo Park Park Mark IV until your post. So I googled it. They cost $2378.09 but that was MSRP so most people didn't have pay such a high price (we're talking 1965). The Tuxedo Park Park Mark IV had lots of chrome. Once again I got my info from EarlyCJ5.com, an excellent source of info for old CJ5 's. Here's what they say:

The Tuxedo Park Park Mark IV sported several visible clues to let the bystander know that this was no ordinary Jeep! Visual cues include:

  • Chrome front bumper,
  • chrome hood badges
  • chrome windshield hinges (note that these are pull apart, not the later CJ style),
  • windshield clamp catch,
  • chrome drop down license plate holder,
  • chrome tail lamps,
  • hubcap sporting the “Jeep” emblem,
  • and a column shift, for those lucky enough to get a close look at it.

So did you buy it or did someone else grab it up ? It looks to be in really good shape.

nice and clean whats the plan for it
:xj:

someone else got it, i was in for 1500.00, but 2500.00 took it.

I don't see any resemblance to a Tuxido park on that Jeep. I am guessing the owner removed everything and put it to work. I wonder why he would have bought that model for a work vehicle though.

the owner's dad got the jeep in 69, bought it from someone locally, didn't even realize it was a Tux. it still had the chrome taillights and the hood emblems, and i verified the VIN. he also had the orig soft top sitting up in the loft of the barn, didn't look in too bad of shape considering. no sign of the bumpers though!!

Re: 1965 CJ5A (Tuxedo Park Park) Chrome Hinges?

Hey CJ Community. Ive got a clean all original 65' Tuxedo Park Park CJ5 . The Hood and Windshield Hinges are chromed, but the Chrome is peeling and failing. 1) does anyone know of any new or non trashed hood or huge seats for this Jeep? 2) anyone know of a reliable shop that I can ship out and have them re-chromed?

Best,

Jeff
