Build Thread 1977 Cj7 Golden Eagle
i brought the old AMC 304 back to life after 6 months. i put the side pipes on and it sounded great. tomorrow bleading the back brakes adn movin her around the yard:D

before After

it has been a long one year and 1 month and she is 99.9% done all i need is paint and some cyclone wheels. for 2 guys. (my son and i) who have never done a restoration before, we were impressed. when i get it painted and everything i will be posting pictures. Thank you for all you guys on this forum site for all of your help and cooperation. Jeepers are a breed of their own, and you guys are great guys. thank you very much.:chug:

so i figured out my Jeep didnt want to be 99.9% done :( the carb decided to :dung: the bed:mad: so i am getting a rebuild kit from napa tomorrow from NAPA and hopefully getting her running right again:cool:

just got the rebuilt carb back today:cool:. i gave it to my friend yesterday with all the pieces and it was done at 10 last night. he said it looked like it was on fire at one time:dunno: but he soaked it and put it all back together. it runs great but i still have some tweaking to do.

nice.. very nice.

i may not be very old or very smart but i have never seen a jeep that someone considered "done" hahaha

what lift/tire combo do you have??? i like your setup... mine is too darn big.

I have a 4 inch superlift kit, rough country shocks and drop pitman arm with 33s and lift shackles to give it a little extra height. thanks Kickit:chug:

that thing sits perfect. do you recall what lift shackles you got? did you use lift shackles all around or just the front?

well i do not know. the back ones are superlifts (they were used when i put them on) and i really dont know what i used on the front. i know theyre lift shackles. ill put pics of them on here. and thanks a lot Kickit:cool:

just got my console from bmflyfish today. it looks great takin her out tomorrow to keep that carb in tune. then wiring up my speakers:cool:

id like the shackle pics. also pics of how you do your speakers. im thinking about going with some waterproof marine 6''x9'' speakers with a water proof player that came off a boat i had but im not sure where to put them. i might hide them behind my dash and do some small 1'' tweeter speakers in the back to keep it low key.

heres the shackle differences. stock shakle on left current shackle on right.

just flexin the cj earlier today. need a better spot to flex:( but its good. adjusted the timing and opened it up on the road the Glass packs sound great. very pleased. still some adjusting to do.... but its getting better:chug:

for my speakers however. i got them with the tub and theyre jensen triaxials with sheet metal built around them. also i have a sanyo radio in it that works great. i dont know if its water proof but it works fine. everything in mine is 10 plus years old becuase it was in a climate controlled building. but i just used the previous equipment that the previaous owner had.

nice. i have been dying to get my jeep to the farm to see how she flexes. i just got to figure out how to get my sway bar "quick" disconnect pins to come out lol

welp, i cant help you on that:( but i really have no place.... maybe the pile of 2B limestone in my yard.:D i just have one ?...... my jeeps vacuum advance isnt working properly.... and the distributor is before 5 degrees TDC. but the vacuum advance is pointing up instead of down towardds the fan. i dont know why its giving me trouble. the vacuum advance may be bad or i have to turn it. would it help if i turned it? i have vacuum in the line its just not advancing properly.

Well, im back:D just got my KM2s and feelin good. got my Golden Eagle wheels soda blasted, ready for paint. and got the custom bumper on. within the next month i will be tearing into the Old Borg-Warner quadra-trac Transfer Case to put a new chain and seal kit in. its gonna be a great month!:chug:

nice! those are great tires. i wish i could trade my 36'' Interco Super Swampers for some km2s i have had many friends that have driven them bald and loved every bit of them

how much does soda blasting cost if you dont mind me asking.

I was thinking the same thing , how much does it run to soda blast stuff? Are you going to paint the wheels gold again?

Soda Runs from 35-50.00 (depends where you get it) and i just cant wait to get the KM2s on:chug: and elwood i am painting them gold again:chug:i have a local body shop that can mix the paint and i got the one good wheel shot by a camera that brought out every single color in it! it goes by the color Reddish Bronze. i just cant wait to see what theyre going to look like once their painted!
