you should do a write up on what you used to recess the fuel filler!

I did on mine as well, but used junk yard stuff from a suburban i believe, and had to cut and re weld up a few things. I have my filler neck on the side of the CJ though.

I almost feel like a I cheated.... 10 bucks from Morris 4X4.. Gas Tank Filler Cover - Plastic 5463803

Keep in mind that my jeep is all fiber from front to back so a saws-all and 2 beers later I had a hole and a grin. :chug: Couple nice stainless bolts and lock washer and all done. Literally took me 15 minutes.

Heyya everyone.... decided to replace all the bolts on the dash of my jeep. Unfortunately they ones that were in it were mix and match, plus there was only about 6 of em so I replaced all 12. Was a noticable differance for something so small :)

Well I learned something new today.... When I was doing my jeep I was 99% sure I wanted orange... so I looked around alot at jeeps trying to find the right orange color.

Eventually I pulled the 1978 AMC Dupont color card and started looking at it.

Now me being the mad genious that I am I was like COOL and factory 78 orange color!! :D Poof it was set... Sun Orange an awesome factory color so I thought and as usual... I failed to read all the directions (so to speak).

Move forward a year and I am starting to get some chips and stuff as it is fiberglass and it seems to chip faster than scratch  Ha.. my brilliant self as I think I am googles the 78 AMC Dupont card again and look up the color figuring I would just stop by a paint shop, hand em the cards and say "hook me up dude!" and poof I am set with touch up paint... Right? So during my glorious search I come to this site... PaintScratch.com Colors
so after I put in my year and jeep poof I get an awesome factory color list... but behold...no sun orange?? What the hell?

So I get to looking at the card closer again and actually take special notice to the G next to the color Sun Orange and Baammm it hits me... I painted my jeep the color of a :censored: Gremlin!!

Truth be told I think the color is bitchin so I am not that mad although my mother got a great laugh about it. Anyways.. I ended up ordering paint from those guys and I would recommend it to anyone... the color is freaking spot on and I got the primer, touch up, and a touch up pen for like 40 bucks. Dries quick and looks great!

Well I took the wife and kids down to the harbor by the naval base to get some fresh seafood for dinner. On the way back we drove out one of the jut outs where alot of people fish. Just so happens they been dumping dirt back there and kids at heart like myself have decided to drive over them... I had to find out what the girl could do.

Honestly I was quite suprised... they were small little hills but straight up and straight down :D Even got some air on one. Was fun and as you can see.. the wife got out scared and my 11 year old was loving it. :p

Also the first 4 pics are a sequenced of the hill up and dip, then the hill down the other side. In the 2nd pic you can see the swing of the rear axle low on the drivers side while the front passanger was down in a dip.

Unfortunately one other guy there in a big ole ford truck bottomed out and got stuck... I snatched him off the hill but managed to bend up my brush guard :(

Only paid 50 bucks for it and the Daylighters off craigslist

But we have the techonology to rebuild this... we will make it better, stronger.... straighter... heheheh.... anyways, nothing some heat and a hammer can't fix.
