1978 sbc and 700r4 swap

I am currently doing a sbc swap in my jeep, i was hoping someone could help with a question i have. I bought an advance adapters Transfer Case to Transmission kit and they are saying i need a 2wd output shaft for my transmission for it to work. I have a Dana 20 transfer case. I am wondering if i buy a 2wd 700r4 transmission will it bolt up and work the same as a 4wd trans, or do i have to buy the output shaft and swap them out

I can't directly answer your question, but I can offer you these suggestions. If you haven't done so already, you could go to Novak adapters website and read what they have to say about this swap. They have really good information there. Or, you could call Advance Adapters and ask their tech people. Who better to point you in the right direction, right.
