I know nothing about jeeps, my father purchased a 1981 CJ7 Laredo special edition a while back, and my brother drove it whilst overheating and now it's spewing out coolant. I've checked the hoses, but can't find any tears.
Coolant is pouring out of the bottom part of the engine. any input?
thanks
Nate.

I think you should do some more inspection, in that area is the water pump and water pump hoses. Thanks for sending in the pic.

Does it only leak while it's running?

If so, maybe clean the area of all coolant, then after the area's dry, run the engine while looking for the source.

Check the front of the engine carefully, could be a few things from higher up. As mentioned, water pump, even head gasket.

Don't forget to inspect the freeze plugs. Running extremely hot can cause the block to expand more than usual and when it returns to normal the freeze plugs may have lost their seal, especially on an older engine with a lot of rust and scale on it. Even though the coolant you see may be nowhere near the freeze plug, antifreeze can find a path along the oil pan or other places and make it a long way from the plug.
