Not the best looking welds but not the worst either.
Better than rust at any rate. Also check for rust on the inside (the section near the motor and Transmission ) by the brake proportioning valve as it rots there as well.

Thanks for the response. Will do. Jeep is $4000 and needs a little bodywork in the normal areas, ie rockers and rear quarters. Drive train is said be very good for the age of the jeep. 87,000 original miles. Feel like it’s worth the 2.5hr drive to for that price.

What motor and Transmission ? 86 is the last year and some of them had a vary hard to find wide track Dana 44 rear axle

Depends on how bad the rust was to begin with. Or if they were just reinforcing the frame in that area for a aftermarket bumper
With the combo you mentioned and if the Jeep is in at least decent working order then 4k is a good deal

Front frame where the motor mounts attach to the frame are rusted out with holes on either side.
