I decided to check Napa's website before I went out for some gaskets today. Im replacing the rear main seal and came across two very different oil pan gaskets. One is a 1 piece rubber gasket and the other is a multi piece cork gasket. I was going with the 1 piece but figured Id ask , is there was a reason to go with the multi piece cork version? I already found out I have to remove the motor mount prior to removing the pan. I figured there might be something else I didnt know??? :dunno:

Pete, the 1 piece rubber gasket is great, I put the Felpro in mine when I pulled it apart recently. I used Permatex hight temp sealer and it hasnt leaked a drop.

Thanks. Thats the way I was leaning anyway. Off to Napa , they must love me. Within 30 minutes I got my answer from someone in an 80s era Cj. God I love this place.
