Diff AMC 20 gasket

I ordered a felpro gasket for the rear diff (AMC20 ) and I noticed that it not only doesn't have holes, it isn't large enough to even go over the holes- is that the way it should be?
Like this- the orange being the gasket. Should I send it back and just use RTV?

That’s the one. Different ways of doing it. I use a sealant.

That looks a lot better. I just used the silicone one for the valve cover and love that one
