Anyone have idea where else to locate this? I'm getting readings anywhere from 240 to 260 cause of the Exhaust being so close. And it doesn't help that I think the donut gasket is leaking a little bit. Lol :confused:
 
I take it that due to the size of the thread you have no other place to put it. Like close to the thermostat would be ideal. An option would be to go to an electric gauge with a smaller send unit.
 
No other option on new placement that I can see. Electric might be the only option I have then. :(
 
A couple more suggestions would be to protect the temp sender lines with header wrap or you could machine a new hole in the water jacket on the intake manifold.
