1976 CJ-7 project in progress will have a 302 AOD dana 300
Hello all I just installed a 302 in my Jeep. I have a question the engine is a 1991 and the starter has a big red wire and a smaller black wire. Where do I hook up the wires on the Jeep?

Tks

The big wire should be the hot (+) that powers your starter, so this should go to the hot side of your battery. The other wire should be the hot wire to actuate your starter solenoid, so that should be on a fused circuit that is coming from your ignition/key switch. Both the starter and the solenoid are case ground, meaning they are grounded via the engine block, so for them to function, you will have to have a ground strap from your engine to the negative (-) side of the battery.
