’77 CJ7 AMC 304 …Having a problem with no voltage to coil. Engine ran fine then removed steering wheel to replace dash. Did not change any wiring. Now it won't start...I have 12 volts to coil when key is off and no voltage to coil when key is on or in start position. Replaced ignition switch no change and ignition module no change… guessing wiring issue but not sure how to proceed. Baffled by this one….. Thanks in advance for any help.

Figured it out... new ignition mod worked for me the one I replaced the original one with was used. Probably a good idea to carry a spare?
Thank you for posting, I'm having a similar issue on my '78. With the "rebuilt" shorty GM steering column I got several years back it was becoming increasingly hard to turn the key, it turned out the the PO had run a wood screw into the key cylinder for some reason. I removed the screw and all was well... until 'Black Betty's' issues. I may have to revisit the ignition cylinder.

Yeah must be a farmer John fix
