That's what I've been thinking. I got a Muncie 465, but to rework and adapt it is gonna cost pretty good. I'm working with a shoestring budget and trying to make something work.

Not to cut your project ideas short, but when you start changing things from stock it gets expensive in a hurry. Even very straight forward projects get pricey. You get to thinking, "Oh this will be easy, this will go on that, no problem." Then drive shafts don't quite fit anymore. Motor mounts need fabricating, can you weld? Transmission mounts can be a lot of fun along with the cross member. Will your stock radiator handle the extra heat, will the fan clear the radiator. Exhaust systems aren't cheap either. OMG it costs $225 to calibrate your speedometer. No properly done swap is inexpensive.

Yeah. I'm seeing this already. The main thing I want to do is get a V8 in this thing. Sick of the lack of power when even driving down the highway. Was looking at changing gears, but I won't be satisfied unless I got a good V8 in it. Fuel mileage can't be much worse. I'm cramping it to just run the speed limit.

Just for a thumb nail idea my 360 gets ~11 mpg. The AMC 304 is much the same.

Your next problem is, will your Transmission handle the extra power. .... If it's a T-4 or T-5 probably not for long.
