Ok, so we had some family over last Saturday and one of my wife's uncles was looking over my CJ7 build in the garage. He says - "heck I've got an old Jeep and you can have it if you'll come haul it off".

Here's what he has. So, is this dude worth anything or what. He says it's a 49, which looks about right with some of the pics I've seen. Has the flat head 4 cyl that he says ran fine when he parked it about 2 years ago.

Hate to turn down a free Jeep. But, boy it looks like a lot of work. Plus I've seen some nicely restored jobs that still aren't selling for much at all.

Thoughts.?

It looks like a keeper to me. If you can get it for free take it. :):) I would grab that up in a second for free. I would be happy to drive down and pick it up.

^^what he said^^ I wouldn't turn down a flat fender.

I would never turn down a free Jeep

It's a flathead, and it's got a complete set of five original wheels! What could possibly go wrong with a deal like this?

With patina like that! Just take out a 2nd on the home and Jump in. :)

You definitely need to get that. As stated with a free flat fender you can't go wrong.

Pounce on it! Might make good trading stock if nothing else.

Hello, This is a NO BRAINER! Only downside is if you restore you will spend more than you can recoup. Period.

If you feel the love, bring it home. Does it have a title? If yes , bring it home. If not ? maybe not so much.

I doubt there are many things more expencive than a "free " Jeep. Kind of like a "free " dog, before the first trip to the Vet, pet supply and obedience school.:D

Nice input guys. Thanks.

NO Title on this one. It's basically been a farm get around kinda ride. Would have to issue request to Ky for a salvage or scrap title i guess if we want to legally drive it around town.

Totally agree we would put more money in than could get out. But, heck that's the same thing I'm doing on my 79 CJ7 build. I've got over $8500 in it so far and no way I could get more than 6 or 7k for it.

We're thinking just get it drivable, new off road rubber and have some fun in the woods.

Thanks again for the input.

Gravy.
