I take it you can't get it into a garage or anything. Did you see my suggestion on a heat gun or a hair dryer to try and melt some of that frozen grease?

LOL - If your not worried about the paint on your hubs, a propane torch works very well also...

the 'scuff'-ing of the tires is when its already in 4wd and you make a hard turn, the tires will kind of feel like they are sliding or sometimes the front will jump around a bunch. This doesn't happen when you are putting it in 4wd, but afterwards.

Ahh... Selectro / Husky hubs. Never rebuilt any but they should be about as easy as Warn. MileMarker took over the company or bought the rights or something like that. I have seen and used them before and from what I uderstand they are good hubs. Did you ever get them free?

I definately would rebuild them.

BTW - Might want to be careful with that torch thing... If I remember correctly there are o rings in them there hubs, too much heat and you could harden the o ring even more then it is.

i order some used warn ones off of ebay. bad thing is i go in for foot surgery tomarrow and will be out for 3 weeks.

As far as the hubs go, they are good hubs. Might want to hang onto them or even sell them.

well my surgery went good and go figure, my hubs showed up today.

three weeks. does anyone know where i can find a good tech page on removing the locking hubs. my wife wants to do them sence i cannt. we have 10 steps out front and i cannt make it up and down them to help. i want something she can look at while doing them.

i asked my wife. she said no. i hope my foot heals quick. i want to get the 4wd working. i hope this fixes it. if not i got to look at the linkage and tcase. this thing sat for years. what should i use to lube the linkage. it probally needs it anyway.

never mind she got them on. im so proud of her. now we just need to get the module done to see if the hubs where the problem. the old ones had all kinds of rusty gunk in them. once we get the jeep fired up i hope that fixes the 4wd problem.
