71 CJ5 clutch set up. OK so I have been an ih scout guy all my life(blasphemous I know) so I picked up a 71 cj5 and I can't make heads or tails out of the clutch setup. V6 BTW so basically what I can see is a hardline from cmc under the dash to a slave cylinder with a pushrod going to the clutch fork. Also what looks to be a return spring for the pedal underneath.
Is this a factory style? I'm having trouble finding parts, don't know enough about the early ones.

Is there a way to do this better? I just got it looks to be a T-90 but didn't get to the tag, I would definitely prefer not to have the hydraulic set up. Feel like the clutch fork moves a bit with my hand, slave seems rusted internal? This looks like an after market set-up?
Thanks

Also this does have a 2 or 3" body lift which maybe why it's that way? Also not much of a fan of them but other than the Transfer Case shifter being a little low it doesn't bother me.
Thanks

Here is a link to a 53-71 service manual. May help out getting started on your new journey.

Not a fan either of body lifts. I would remove and install a proper 2" suspension lift with correct alignment shims.

Good luck with your new project !!!!!

Thank you and it does have a suspension lift of some sort, has enough to read rancho on the springs white paint. I'll look more into that later, mainly want the clutch to work, more research I guess.

Clutch linkage could be binding up with that big of a body lift.

I'm ok with small body lifts (I did 1") but mostly to make cleaning and inspecting the frame after wheeling
