I just picked up some hard doors for a CJ7 to put on my 78 it has the CJ emblem on the inner door panel they are a little rough but definatly fixable but looking thru my normal supplier sites I can only find striker pins for 81 and up CJ's. I am hoping that I could make them work . But I thought I'd pick your all brains before I order them.
Thanks in advance for the responses!
Todd

a pic would be great looks like I'll be makin my own thought about it anyway cant be to bad but the dorrs I got do need a round striker pin

Do the doors you got have the paddle style handles or the older ones that resemble a gym locker type handle?

Those arent from a 78 originally then and will need the strikers Elwood posted above.

Ok the door questions continue. am I missing something obvious? is there an easy way to get the glass out if these doors so I can do some welding and pounding.
Just thought id ask before I made it complicated
Thanks

The vent windows or the roll up and down windows?

non opening wing windows and roll up / down windows already got the u/d mechinism out

The last set that I tore apart where a real pain in the butt. I found that the easiest way is to get the raise/lower mechanism out first. Then you need to remove the stationary vent window. The stationary vent windows have a set screw on the top of the door, it's a tricky little bastid that is usually covered in paint and gunk.

Once you get the set screw out be very careful pulling on the vent window. No one has been able to find someone that makes replacement gaskets for those and the moveable vent window gaskets don't fit right.

I never found a real trick to it. But you have to get the vent window out before you can get the main window out.
