But I am still plugging away after 2 years

I bought this jeep sight unseen. Just pictures. So, I have nobody to blame but myself.
Since purchase every brake component has been replaced including brake lines, new steering box, steering shaft, tie rods, locking hubs, entire rear axle with 1pc shafts, 4.56 gears, truetrac in the rear, 4" suspension lift, (already had 1" body lift) front and rear driveshafts, spring perches cut and moved, clutch, alternator, and more that I am not thinking of now. pretty much everything underneath the vehicle has been replaced. The electrical system is still a mess but I have managed to get lights and turn signals working along with the oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge. Still no speedometer, gas gauge, or windshield wipers but that will be sorted soon enough. Next is replacing fuel lines from front to back and reinstalling the return fuel line the PO removed then an electric fuel pump along with the mechanical because curing vapor lock is hopefully the last thing needed to get this thing on the road.
13k on repairs to this point. I am guilty of paying the shop to do too much work that I should do myself as I used to do most all my own wrenching back in the day. I had best get back to that.

This jeep is like having a hot young girlfriend that you spend money on and spend money on, you buy her such nice things but all you can get is a lousy peck on the cheek every now and then

Cheers

Nice looking jeep ! I can believe you spent that much. I've been on a spending spree myself the last couple of years myself. Sounds like yours will be in great shape to trail ride soon.

Frustrating for sure, but if it makes you feel better, I wish I had functioning oil pressure and temp gauges....

If you get the fuel filter with a single inlet and two outlets, run the fuel return line from the outer outlet ( not the centered one) and position that outlet at 12:00 o'clock position with the filter level, or near level with the inlet slightly lower than the outlet, you should have no vapor lock issues.

That would definitely save a bunch of money, but eat up a good bit of your time...

Now, THATS funny right there.....

I apologize now for what I'm about to say but I have to share this story:

I knew a guy back in the Army that hooked up with the hottest chick in the Battalion, she was a Medic no less.... He told us that after the first time they... you know... She said to him "That should hold you till next month".

Sounds like a medic. We had a chick in BDE maintenance at Hood that would gift guys a night with her if their tracks passed quarterly QC first time. I was never so lucky [emoji58]

Yeah, this was at Hood. The things that went on there.......

Maybe it's because I was combat arms but I saw craziness everywhere I was stationed over the course of my 23 years. Most of the stories I would not believe if I hadn't been personally involved.
Hood doesn't hold a candle to some of the stuff I saw go down in Schweinfurt with 1st ID.

update!

Holley Sniper EFI installed and now my jeep runs GREAT! FINALLY! No more vapor lock and really good power delivery. Starts better than my Tacoma and there ain’t a damn thing wrong with the Tacoma. It feels like I gained more power than the 8 hp increase the dyno shows but I am not disappointed at all. I’m just happy that I can finally drive the damn thing. Now I feel like I am almost at the point where I can start buying things I want instead of NEED. Speaking of which...Gauges! I have not seen it mentioned before in Sniper threads but did you know that there is a wire, a single wire mind you, that, so long as you use the Holley analog style efi gauges it provides the data for oil pressure, tach, coolant temp, voltage, fuel pressure, and air/fuel mix? Throw in the gps speedo and done! The gauges daisy chain together so only one power, one ground for all the gauges. It just couldn’t get any easier! Now, I have not done this yet, but it is on the never-ending list.

Jeep looks good. Grinding it out pays off. When it comes to hot young girlfriends I prefer the ride of an older Cadillac myself.

I like that rig with the modded rear wheel well flares. Or YJ tub. Never did like the round CJ style with larger tires.

You might call and check...don't believe these work with Sniper... Site says "...are compatible with all Terminator, HP, and Dominator ECU’s".

That said...Speedhut has what you need and they work fantastic.

I noticed that as well but if you read the installation instructions it says they do work with the Sniper. I have been looking at the Speedhut gauges, lets call those "Plan B"

cheers

Good deal... Hope they work out. I'm going Speedhut to keep the OE look, but those are a nice alternative for sure.

Yea, but she looks really good hanging on your arm!

I had a CJ5 I bought in 76 brand new. Orange with white steel wheels, white seats, and white soft top. Wish I still had that one. Yours looks really good!
