A new set of steel wheels are in the near future. Does anyone run a different back spacing on the front or rear to make the wheels even out width wise on their Jeeps due to the difference in axle housing widths? I've noticed some appear that way or is there even a backspacing on wheels that would even out the back to the front or the other way around?

What backspacing is common among jeep owners?

I wouldn't want different wheels. I like to rotate tires so they last longer. I'd use spacers on, or a wider housing.

3.5" - 3.75" is 'normal' for CJ's.

As replied above, I wouldn't run different wheels front/rear. Or be concerned about any variance in OEM axle WMS width.

Got it. Didn't think about the tire rotation.

Priced a set of Cragar steel black rims with round holes and a set of Cooper M/T tires today. I can get 5 wheels and tires everything included, cetercaps, stems, lugnuts, mount and balance for around 1100. That's also with a no fuss replacement warranty. Still looking around.

Make sure the wheel center will clear the front hub.

Bought my tires while on sale today. Went with Cragar Soft 8 15x10 rims and Cooper MTP 33x12.5x15 tires. Bought all 5 one whack. One thing down several to go.
