80 cj7 vin????

Have a friend that just picked up a CJ7 . The vin is JOM93EB. It has a 4 cylinder motor? I didn't think 4 was available until 81. This is made in 1-80. Don't see the code for a 4 cylinder. Thanks fdpwr2a
