Please let me know how this went! That is my next project on my 83 CJ7 disc/drum- I want to make them power brakes. I want to buy a new mastercylinder/booster kit and I'd like to know any issues you may have encountered. I would greatly appreciate it. Also do you know what this talk about a YJ conversion is? I dont know if you looked in to it but I like to look at all options, Thanks!parenegade: the setup i have right now has disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear with just the master cylinder mounted to the firewall. i am asking what i need to make my brakes power brakes. a guy i found is selling a brake booster and and a master cylinder attached to it so that i why i was asking what all i need. so far i have gathered that i need the booster, master cylinder, hose to go from booster to manifold.
The booster should have a bracket mounted to it that bolts to the firewall . You just gotta make sure new master cylinder has the same size brake line fittings like 1/2 to 9/16 . The stock proportional valve should be good to use . Here is pictures of my old system.
