Build Thread 83 CJ7 its time to get it done
slow progress lately, had a change in work shifts for 2 weeks. that took some getting used to, now im back on my night shift. So i got the skid plate measured up, welded and installed just to find out that i might still be a quarter of an inch off, I am trying to keep everything tucked as high up as I can and my welder is not near the Jeep. I refuse to cut up my tub to fit my Transmission and Transfer Case shifter, so at minimum im going to cut a quarter inch out of my Transmission mount to get the Transmission closer to the skid plate, i think from there im going to trim my twin sticks down a little to clear the body.today im going to start looking at fabbing up some new motor mount perches that bolt to the frame like the factory ones did. I need to move the motor back a little to clear my electric fan.

well im pissed at photobucket at the moment, my wifes computer is to slow to handle all of Googles stupid ads

I'm glad I'm not the only one that tends to take the hard way just because....... you go, brother. The aggravation will pay off in the end.....

I was practicing TIG welding and my metal got a little hot, nothing a vise and press cant straighten out, still going to chop my mount by a 1/4 of an inch shorter to get the Transmission closer to where I want it

would love to be neighbors, however you will have to be the one to move, the wife gets really mad when I mention moving lol

Grrr, I have been away from here way to long waiting on money for expensive parts for the Jeep again, well I now have all 4 wheels and tires, I have the money to order my axle shafts as soon as I Can get the measurements for them. After that I need to scrap up the money for the rear driveshaft and tranny fluid to get it to move under its own power =)

so i guess photobucket is working again, Im really glad I so did not want to have to move all my photos. I got the plug and spacer in the mail today for my rear Truetrac and was able to measure my axle lengths. The center register is still confusing to me, i measure my axle at 3.55 inches and when i searched on line to confirm they are saying it should be 3.06...weird. so i will reconfirm my measurements in the morning and call Moser to get my new shafts on order. When they arrive the Jeep will be a roller =)

Hey, man - ever get your rear axle together? Or have you been like me - just lookin at the Jeep as you go by back and forth to work???

Grr, almost, I should have the shafts and bearings ordered soon, I have also just been looking at keeps and working, I did however make my motor mounts now I'm trying to get them installed so I can push my motor back 1 inch to clear the electric fan...... and on top of that we are putting in an offer on a new house =O

How is the weather for you? It's so hot down here that I don't feel like being outside

Weather wise it's not too bad - had a couple weeks of 95+ with the added benefit of high humidity..... last couple weeks have been a lot better. I've been helping a buddy install repeater antennas for Verizon this summer - many hours on metal roofs last several weeks. I have a better tan under my chin than on my back LOL

Soon as I get the right side of the tub sanded down, I'll be ready for paint - that's when the monsoons will fire up around here..... still determined to drive it by Christmas....... Why, yes - I think I will have another beer....

:mad:We have been living the monsoon, high humidity heat here the last few weeks. My jeep hasn't been out of the garage because of the rain. Fall is still 3-4 months away
