Got the trim ring cut, shaped, and bent the way I want, got the first shifter boot sewn up most of the way, I think I might sew a backing board to the bottom of the boot to keep it square so it’s easier to hold sill under the trim ring

I was practicing TIG welding and my metal got a little hot, nothing a vise and press cant straighten out, still going to chop my mount by a 1/4 of an inch shorter to get the trans closer to where I want it

Hmm I just looked at these pictures from last year and realized that I still do not have the Transmission mount bolted to anything its just chillin there under the Jeep...

No they are TJ seats and brackets, they take some floorboard surgery to install

Man I’m disappointed I have the 3 individual boots done but I forgot my sewing needle and thread so I am going to try to finish them tomorrow

Whew, stitching all this mess into a square was a pain but I got it good enough for me, time to paint it and mount it

You did a nice job making those boots!! Don't know if this helps but clipped some of the seam allowance along the boot and at the bottoms to get them to lay flat. Great job!!

Lol I sprayed them with the same gloss black the body is being painted with


I do not plan to leave them as the permanent boots I needed boots and I need practice sewing. What I used is some left over flexible boot from work, it’s some kind of synthetic fiber covering rubber
