84 CJ7 I6 vacuum advance

I just finished connecting the factory vacuum advance to the 4", 10" switches, but I am missing the forward vacuum delay valve and the small vacuum reservoir. Can not find the delay valve anywhere. I think it should be purple and black 4 second delay.

What is the purpose of the delay valve?
Will it cause any problems not having it?

I know... Why would I want to hook up that ? It actually runs better with everything hooked up
