84 just starting the tear down

hear are a few pictures as I start tearing it down and it shows the floor pan work that I will be replacing , the rear part is good but after lifting the tub up I will see an post pictures of the underneath

here are a few more of the tear down pictures

here are a few more with the front off and all body mounts are out , didn't do to bad only broke 2 out of the 11 bolts , the rest all came out , of course the roll bar wasn't as easy but I will be welding some support plates to secure that better , anybody supported there roll bar better ? could use some ideas on that and whats the best body mounts to replace with ? and am I correct on that some of the new shafts need cut on the new mounts before installed ?
will be sandblasting the frame when body is off and motor out as well as the bottom of the tub , will post some pictures when the tub is off hopefully this weekend,,,the bottom looks good underneath an all the supports except the one on the outer drivers side were the roll bar attached,,have a new one coming but want to add some support plates there as well under the roll bar .

new floor pans arrived,,found them all for $252.58 including shipping,,I think it was a pretty good deal considering it was ebay

well have the motor out and the block at the machine shop and then cleaned the frame and coated with por-15 and also started framing up some lower rocker panels that I am making from 16 gauge steel

and have drivers side floor pans cut in getting ready to weld in

here are a few more were I am remaking some of the supports before adding the rocker and floor pans

few more,,not my prettiest welds but solid

got the drivers side tacked in place and got the rocker installed and cut some plates for the rear roll bar will mount,,will still need to make some more bracing for the bottom side,,and need to finish welding the floor seams and then I can start on the passenger side

Looking good! Keep at er. All the effort is gonna be worth it.

got the rear brackets welded in for the roll bar,,still need to prep some more

got the rear roll bar mounts welded in and por 15 on the rear and the drivers floor pans welded in and the passenger side cut out and getting ready to weld in,,almost done with the hard part

finally got the passenger side pans and supports welded in,,thought I would post how I repaired the supports to the inside of the body,,these are pictures of the passenger side inner support to the floor, its how I repaired all of them,,first picture shows were I cut out all the rust,,2nd picture is my helper inspecting my work,,3rd picture shows the patch that I started with,,4th picture is shows were I made grooves to bend the metal,,5th picture shows were I bent the plate over

6 th picture shows were I made the welds and put another plate on the sloped side , 7th picture shows were I welded it all in including the bottom plate that I made,,8th picture shows were I grinded it down,,9th picture shows the cover plate and the last picture is were I grinded it down and got in a hurry and warped the metal a little but it had to have some filler anyways,,but thats how I made the repairs,,not perfect put it worked for me

also got my block back yesterday and have started putting it together

I just got an 84 CJ7 myself, and I'm looking forward to getting knee deep into maintainence. Thank you for posting such extensive pics and details about what you are doing. I plan on using a lot of it as a guideline for what I want to do, I'll also probably be hitting you up for some advice and guidance. Keep it up! Thanks, Stephen
