Build Thread 84 cj7 starting the process
I am beginning to hate after market wind shield frames , had one new glass installed and brought it home and started to install on jeep and cracked new glass due to one area being to tight as they did have to cut to get it in and now there cutting another one  and will be another few days before I can try again :censored:

I hope they aren't making you pay for the new glass!

The glass folks should know how much play is required in that frame for proper function. I would be PO'd if that happened. They would talk about that crazy guy with the jeep for a while if I was expected to re-pay...

no he knows what happened because he had trouble getting it in due to the glass being tight on one corner and he only charged me $AMC 150 for glass an installation to begin with so I might cut him some slack and give him another $50 for the headache
it just sucks that I cant get out and drive the jeep after all the work ,,the windshield has held me up for awhile with me trying to paint it in the cold weather and now trying to get the glass in

Must be something about the flat frame and installing glass. The glass shop I used broke three glasses including my original trying to get it installed.

well finally got the windshield in and turns out the seal that the glass company got worked to fit a original factory glass and the one I bought from summit racing was good but to thick for factory size glass , there's was more like the one from factory and worked great , also got the new soft top on , will get some outside pics later
