Build Thread 84 cj7 starting the process

Build Thread 84 cj7 starting the process
I just got an 84 CJ7 myself, and I'm looking forward to getting knee deep into maintainence. Thank you for posting such extensive pics and details about what you are doing. I plan on using a lot of it as a guideline for what I want to do, I'll also probably be hitting you up for some advice and guidance. Keep it up! Thanks, Stephen

tks , and if I can help I will ,, main thing on those supports and floor pans is to take extensive measurements to make sure you get them the right lengths and proper locations to line up all the seat holes and roll bar holes in the floor,,and test fit as you go,,but the measuring is important,,

a few updates,,got the spray in bed liner and have done the bottom of the tub,,cant tell in pictures but its a little heavy in areas were I was learning to spray it,,need to practice before doing the inside of the tub,,and a few pictures of the motor installed on the frame

well been awhile but here is some etching primer shots

got more primer on today,,now just got to save the money for the base paint,,more time than money

Its coming together and looking good. :) Thanks for the pics. Im checking in on yours as I get ready to tackle mine. :chug:

tks its been a long progress,,but the end result is looking good so far,,shot some paint on the tub that I will post later,,its bomber blue and I love that color

Nice Job.............Looks good.

The raptor looks most excellent. I used it also, but I tinted mine with a brown. What color is the outside gonna be?

bomber blue is the color that I am using inside and out,the raptor turned out alittle light in color but as I shoot the body I am going over the liner and its darkening up and then shot clear coat on it also, dont know if it was the wisest thing to do but it looks great right now

here are a few of the base coat paint , looks light in the picture but it is a little darker than it shows,,a little more wet sanding an time for another base coat

a few more with the fenders,,still needs a few more coats of base color before I can shoot the clear

a few more with a better camera but still a ways from any clear coat,,

here are some with clear coat , the pictures make it look good but painting outside is a pita and there are some dust and :dung: but I hope it will buff out some but for me its great the way it is

I can't wait to see this one together that blue looks fine!

here are a few with the raptor liner on the rockers and around the rear area

put the tub back on and installed the new energy bushings,,sits pretty good

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the paint and the liner run you. I'm welding in new patches now and hope to hit it all with some por 15 and then liner under and inside my 5.
