86 Original Seat with CJ embossed into them - question

Hey all,

I've got a set of very nice black vinyl hi-back seats original to a 1986 CJ7 with "CJ" embossed into the headrest area.

I'm wanting to go with some new Corbeau heated tan or spice colored seats and am wondering what the OEM seats might be worth. I saw a set of tan non-embossed seats go for $665 on ebay recently and am thinking these might be worth enough to offset the cost of new seats. They are perfect except for two small (1/4" and 1/2") tears that have been professionally repaired.

I'd sure appreciate your input.

Never heard or seen a set of seats with the CJ on them. I'm wondering if that was something special that a dealer was able to get ahold of. I would say that they are rare, just not sure what someone will pay for them. If you can get good money for them, that would definitely off-set your new seats. But if it was me, I would keep them.

I had some in my '85 and I've seen them here and there. I actually saw a white pair not so long ago. From my experience the price for Cj seats rises by colors not so much styles ,Laredo seats excluded. Nutmeg , Honey ,Garnett and Slate blue all fetch a pretty good buck these days cause most interiors were of course black. Not saying their not worth anything you just need to find the right buyer.

Those are nice! I would think you could get a pretty penny for them if you find the right buyer. I would almost put them in my living room.

I took some pics before mounting them to the risers. I think I'll put up an ebay ad and see what happens. If I get my price, I'll sell them and order the Corbeau's I've been eyeing.

I too, have never seen the 'CJ' on a seat like that.
Was this a 'special' Jeep, of some type??

Not that I'm aware of... base model, 20 gal plastic tank, tilt up rear seat, no radio... it was the late 86.

but im looking for a set of these as mine had them originally and i was young and dumb and trashed them because the driver side was torn and duct taped back together. now im trying to find a set
