New coat of paint. New seats. Opened up the rear wheel arches because my tire was rubbing. New flares to replace the damaged ones. POR15 the frame. Prob some other stuff done too. Still needs to be wet sanded and buffed. YJ lift to be installed soon with some other stuff. I love the new seats. I also had the factory tire carrier removed and filled in the holes. White lettering and a frame mounted tire carrier will be going on.

Your Jeep still looks so good. You going to put the white stickers/paint on the "Jeep" on the front of the tub to match the tailgate?

I will, as soon as they come in. The rear ones didn't come out perfectly, so I may put new ones on there or just have the letters painted.
On a side note, my retrosound radio died. I now need to figure out what to do now for tunes.
Also, the lift is in, still waiting on the bilsteins. And, I may go to 35s, but I am unsure on that one.

As far as the tires go, I would recommend passing on the 35s since you only have a six and 4:10s. For me the power is a bit weak for climbing the higher altitude hills on the pavement. 33s are easier to handle also.

Nice looking rig! Any reason why you got rid of the spare tire carrier? Was it getting in the way?
BTW if your looking for a new project, you may want to consider welding in a full roll cage. It really improves the handling of the vehicle, and if you weld it to the frame, it's indestructible. It also looks bad ***!

My buddy just mentioned that I might want to think about it. I probably won't go to 35's, but I through the thought out. I am still currently waiting on the Bilsteins to come in. When everything is installed I will have a better idea. I am sitting at 78 inches high to the roll bar. The house I am buying has a 81 inch garage opening. So, I should at least wait for the new lift to be on before messing with height too much anyway.

Also, since I was getting the jeep re-painted, it made sense to remove it now. I probably won't have a tire carrier for a little while. I've spent way too much on parts recently and I don't need another hit to the account

Sorry about that. One of your pictures looked like you maybe had a frame tire carrier on the back. You made the right call though. A tire that heavy riding on the tailgate, is probably not a good idea.
I lucked out that my PO installed a Warn frame tire carrier, and a full roll cage. I posted a pic of my CJ5 below. I probably wouldn't of been able to afford that stuff normally. Owning a Cj is like owning a boat sometimes. There's always a project to do, and it's always more expensive then you thought.
The frame tire carrier really frees up the tailgate, which is nice getting my dog in and out.

My Jeep is currently at my buddy's shop awaiting need YJ 4 inch lift, bilsteins, tom woods, etc. Pulled the wheels, sold the 33s, and have new 35s coming in. Sand blasted the wheels and now am about ready to paint them. Hope to have them done by the end of the week. I thought about new wheels, but I like the OEM 15x8s. They aren't rare, but not as common as the 15x7s. My GF is going to pin stripe them for me. This is something else she is working on. I told her she is going to have to do it over after my jeep has the new lift and tires, haha

I probably going with this carrier at some point. My friend said that they are pretty nice considering the cost. A Warn one is BIG bucks!!

The new lift is nearly all on. A little more work needs to be done on the rear, as you can probably see. Lots of new parts and I am happy the Transfer Case drop is gone.

Wheels after sandblasting and new primer/paint.
It was kind of cool sandblasting the old paint away. After a few layers, I could see that they were originally white with a red pin stripe. My GF is going to paint a black pin stripe. It will go where it would have gone on a late '70s Renegade . I think it will look pretty cool.

Here are the disconnects I am getting to replace the garbage warrior products ones I used to have. The old lift was REALLY stiff. I actually didn't even need me sway bar connected. The warrior products disconnects were also really hard to use and loud/clanky on the road. I hope these work much better with the softer suspension.

So my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is very worn out and burning oil/smoking badly unless I put in a can and a half of engine restore, and needed to be rebuilt, so I bought this today:
It was rebuilt 10000 miles ago and comes with the CJ engine mounts, power steering brackets/pump, clutch, flywheel, and everything seen here. I am going to clean it up, paint it AMC Blue, and take a look at the inside of it to see if its good to go. Its an AMC 360 V8. I will probably get a Holley Truck Avenger Carb for it.

I just picked it up from the shop. Suspension, tires, and a bunch else done. I won't start the 360 project until the winter.
In the short drive home I have noticed a HUGE difference in ride quality. It is a massive difference over the old set-up. The new drive shaft, shocks, lift, clocked axle, Transfer Case delete, etc. have made it so much better.

My GF's bday present to me. New tire carrier. Seems to be very well made. Latch and construction seems to be pretty heavy duty.

The rear wheel arches were opened up and lengthened. There would have been rubbing if it wasn't done. I daily drove it all summer with the 35s. I like how it turned out.
