hello all new to forum so last time had axle bearings replaced I was told and saw that the housing was worn where the bearing fits in on the axle shaft to the axle housing so the race of the bearing is/was not tight in the housing any ideas on a fix?

Try to post pictures. If it is the housing that is worn, you might have to think about another AMC20 axle. I would look into 1 piece axles also.

I would think a Mickey Mouse repair would be to try and install the bearings with steel shim stock around the bearings which comes in thicknesses in .001 increments.

T'head-Won't work-BTDT;)

Are these the POS/OEM 2 piece type axles?
If so-DUMP'EM and get some Moser 1 piece.
The race can be set with stud and bearing mount Loctite.
