another stupid QUESTION
33x12.5 on stock wheels will rub...Possitive. As I allready said you could add wheel spacers to gain clearance and yes we are talking about the front.

Mine rubbed bad with 33's but has clearance on 31's. both mounted on stock 15x8 w/4" backspace.
PO had 1-1/2" wheel spacers to get turning clearance with the 33" tires.
wheel spacers badddddddddddddd

Oh and this is when sitting in the driveway, get it twisted a bit and the rear is likely to rub the fender wells but can't say this for sure.

Sandblaster, about the only way you are going to tell is to get a tire and see.
otherwise we are talking maybes here
do you have a friend with the tire you want? ask him to let you check it out.
I have run 33s on 3 different jeeps, and the manufacturer of the tires is all different and the profiles are all different, what works with one tire may not fit another. One is now on 31s as I could not get 33s to work
So you want a ball park? yea we can give you one but the best way is to go to a tire shop and ask them, after all if they order it and it does not fit, it is their problem not yours. If you buy it somewhere else and have them mount tires and they do not fit, it is your costly mistake.

Are yours on narrow track axles with a 4" backspace rim?

I have found this little calulator that may help. You would
want the scrub radius to be as close to stock as possible, which is achevied(as many others have said) by changing the back spacing. Too little backspacing can wear out the ball joints, as well as cause tracking issues and abnormal tire wear. Too much back spacing, and you will be rubbing the frame and grinding on the calipers. Hope this helps.

I have looked at a couple of new wheel adds and find the minimum back space is 3.75 inches and the Max is 5 inches and these are on a Limited number of wheels.
I believe I have run 33X12.5 wide tires on 15X8 wheels with 4" backspace , I had no problem hitting the spring but did do 2" body lift to clear fenders. I did not enjoy driving on 33's and have 31's now but clearance was not the issue as I recall.

I like the idea of trying on a pair at the tire store.
If your going to spend $5 or $600 bucks they will work with you.:D

MY THANKS to everyone for their input and trying to help me out...:chug:

the narrow tracks are on 31s now, could not get the 33s to fit in all situations. When doing a rock trail they would rub, when doing tight turns they would, tried just to much and if it was this way then that happened and when that way this happened, sheesh 31s get me down the same trails, just I have to pick safer lines. Now only the 67 runs narrow tracks, the 70 runs tj axles and the 08 runs jk axles, which by the way are junk axles, I have broken my rear axle on the 08 3 times, the tubes are to light and the brackets are to thin. you have to sleeve them and replace all brackets to get them to do a rock garden without fearing what will happen.

That is what I was trying to say and it was not getting through for some reason.

It's hard to talk someone into smaller tires, when they want big ones.:D

Did you have the tire shop recommend a offset ? If so what rim and what offset sizes did you go with?
